I sure do like welts.  They’re just so interesting when worked horizontally; and I don’t mean garter ridges.  I love the welts that you really have to work for, with the borderline awkward pick up multiple rows below(I have to count every single time).  I’m making this up to post on ye olde ravelry.  Oh, and also to wear.  The lusciousness of plucky knitter elevates this simple piece well beyond that which it deserves!

twofer tuesday(i know, it’s wednesday)

for thanksgiving, colin’s brother shane came to visit.  we drank a lot of beer, ate turkey in a restaurant, met new people, and generally had an awesome time.  post-thanksgiving brunch, we picked up a couple of growlers of beer, and hung out on the front porch.  the brothers smoked pipes like the good scots they are, and i took a few pictures.

Hey, look!

hello, i have another pattern!  i’ve had these puppies on the needles for far too long, procrastinating by knitting other folks’ projects.  now here they are!  i can hardly take them off now, they’re so warm and cozy.

the squshy nature of Lark makes these so nice and comfy.  i’ve started knitting all of my lark up several needle sizes larger than it “ought” to be, and i’m really loving the fabric.  try it out!

hey, it’s on ravelry!  isn’t that cool?

hey y’all

so i have a pattern for sale(very exciting), and i also have my first design(published by quince & co.), both up on ravelry.  hop on over and check those out!  some very nice folks have already purchased my pattern; i’m so pleased!  also exciting is the new logo i’ll be putting up soon.  the very talented(and kind) terry border has agreed to trade knitted warmth for the image of one of his bent objects.  thanks terry!

BRAND new bloggy-ness

hi y’all, i have a blog.  it is a bloggy-type of blog, filled with blog things.  i have posted my first pattern on ravelry, you should check it out.  i have been making up my own patterns for ages, but i have only just begun to foist them upon the general knitting public.  also, check out grace cap, currently only available on quince’s site, but soon to be up on ravelry as well.
